Economic development refers to the sustained increase in the economic standard of living of a country's population, improving the quality of human life through increasing per capita income, reducing poverty, and enhancing individual economic opportunities by developing technology, making more productive and efficient use of physical capital, and increasing human capital.
Additionally, economic development is the progress in an economy, or the qualitative measure of this. Economic development usually refers to the adoption of new technologies, transition from agriculture-based to industry-based economy, and general improvement in living standards.
Through various means, including a home ownership center, La Casa is involved in developing economy in the community of which they are a part. Additionally, they have iniciated the following programs, which also aid in economic development: housing development, immigration and language services.
